New tire tariff… Get your tires now before they go up…

This seems like a big deal to me… But what I don’t get is why American tires would go up as well.  I mean, I get that they want more money, yada, yada — but why increase tire prices just to have consumers buying the Chinese tires again? I like the idea of encouraging people to buy within the US more, and this probably is the best wy to do it, but American tires should not go up in price along with them. But that’s just my own opinion, I guess…
