Windows 7 – Tail-Waggin’ Fun « Worldstart Blog.

Gotta love what this guy says about Windows… I’ve noticed much of it myself… I used 95 a little bit, but not much, mostly stuck with DOS or 3.1 until I could run 98… ME? BAH! Vista? Media disaster…

I guess at this point I’m looking good at every other version of Windows. I used 3.1, 98, XP and will be using 7 in a few weeks (as soon as I finish building the computer to run it on, that is).

Anyway, I love the whole “Dog and Hydrant” analogy he uses here… It’s great!

I can’t believe it’s been a month… I’m really bad at this whole write daily thing… Nothing ever happens daily around here…

Anyway, all is going well. For those who knew jm_pstar in the Yahoo! world, if you don’t know already, he’s gone for a couple of years. To be back September 2011. He’ll be in the Pocatello, Idaho area. Exciting, isn’t it?

More news from me… About me… I’ve begun making scenarios for Age of Empires. The original. Evidently they work in the Rise of Rome expansion, as well. But you can download the first one here. You’ll need to make sure you install it in the AOE folder, though. It provides the default, but if you’re like my brother, you’ll need to point it to the correct location.

Notes on the scenario: It’s probably not the hardest one out there, but it’s pretty close. I’ve added a few other things to it to make it harder to win and (mostly for my brother) keep the user playing for a while. Oh also… Be sure to read the readme BEFORE you play. I’ll probably modify it to have those hints and instructions in-game, but they’re not yet. And Build fast… They’re coming for you.

A friend showed me this site today. Just spreading the word a bit.

With Internet Explorer 7 and 8 out and active, there just isn’t a need for version 6 anymore. Version 6 doesn’t support transparencies in images nor does it really fully support full standards-compliant CSS.

Enough rambling. Everyone who has XP needs to upgrade to at least 7. I don’t recommend 8 because it’s slightly unstable in XP. But definitely 7.

…Not! At least not in Windows Me… Has anyone ever heard good things about Me? Has anyone really had good things to say about Me? I certainly haven’t heard any. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because about 3 years ago (March 2006) I was working part-time at a computer repair place and there was this HP laptop that someone had brought in that had Me on it. I stuck in my utilities mini-CD to run some stuff. That’s when I noticed a slight discrepancy with the size pie. Windows is notorious for getting sizes wrong on a burned CD-R anyway, but this was just ridiculous! The CD has 146 MB of data. And here’s the screenshot of it. Not modified in any way. Straight screen shot.
