Childish Adults

It’s amazing, you know? Adults can be civilized until you threaten something they think is valuable. Take a recent experience. When a couple friends and I decided to stop maintaining a fan website (none of us had really done anything with it for literally years – and none of us had the time or money to put behind it), a few fans piped up and said they wanted to keep it around. So, okay. We discussed it amongst ourselves and them. After some period of time it was decided to let one guy implement some much needed security upgrades, and let someone else put up the old original site on their own server while a new version was written, optimized, and secured. Is that what happened?
Not even close. What followed was actually a bit of a nightmare… The basic conversation went something like this:

Client Tracker and Updates

I know, it’s been like forever since I’ve posted here… Anyway, just wanted to post again, Still around. Been pretty busy doing school and the like. However, today I finally got the login system working on Client Tracker – my new open-source project. Well, new-ish… I’ve had it in process since early 2011/late 2010. It’s kind of my first real attempt at OOP in PHP. It’s a work in progress to be sure.

Entropia Markup Calculator

For those few that are playing Entropia Universe will need something to easily calculate markup on items in-game. That’s where this nifty tool comes in.
I decided I wanted something smaller and faster than opening up Excel every time I needed to check prices. This did it for me. Anyone else is welcome to use it. It’s the first functional version, however. So expect things to be a little bit… spartan, I guess you could say… Anyway, for now it only does percentages, but you could very easily use it for TT+ markup (like armor, for example) as well. I expect that in a later version.
Current features:
- Clear button
- Always on top for “Windowed mode”
- Markup Averaging
Planned Features:
- TT+ Markups
- Choose whether it’s always on top
- Update checking

Linux is NOT Windows

I found this article some time ago.. Thought I’d share it. The guy makes some really good points. I hear people complaining that Linux isn’t doing what they want or it’s not working.. You have to use Google.. Or find a support forum that you can be a member of where you can ask questions, give explanations, and learn about Linux and how it works.
But stop complaining that Linux isn’t doing what you want or that it’s not working.

I think he did a good job finding real English words that sounded like the real Romanian words. It comes out hilariously…
