Mission Kim Possible — The End of an Era?
by Adam on Nov.30, 2009, under KP, Other Stuff, Projects
Mission_Kim_Possible : Message: Has Mission_Kim_Possible outlived it’s usefulness?.
So what do you think? I think it’s time to pack up. It was said well in this message. The show’s over, Disney’s never going to make more… So what’s the point of having a group around that’s not doing anything but collecting dust?
Let me point out a few facts before anyone jumps in here to say that it’s not
true.. but numbers don’t lineWhen Kim Possible was supposed to end on April 8th 2005, the response in this
group was enormous with something like 2500 + Posts in a single monthBut in the Months After the show ended on September 7th 2007, the numbers
statistically shows that people are not interested in renewing the show for a
5th season. The bottom line is that because now so few people care (and the number of posts
show it), the usefulness of Mission Kim Possible I feel has come to an End.So in order to get some feedback here, I’m not going to close off this group
until January 14th, 2010, the sixth anniversay of the creation of this Yahoo
Group.
So what do you think? Before you answer, I want to point these out… I’ve compiled the post statistics from the last 6 years into a couple of graphs. This is the lowest year ever… But I’ll let you decide.

Another Week! (And More Projects)
by Adam on Nov.23, 2009, under Other Stuff, Personal Stuff, Projects, TheScripters, Web Design
Update: It’s coming up on 2010 really fast… Almost time to figure out my yearly outlook! Weird…
Anyway, still going through school… Introduction to Business and Technology is the class I’m in right now. Just finished the midterm… Halfway through the 8-week session. *Yay!*
Current projects I’ve found myself with, some website maintenance/updating, then a computer for a family friend, then a laptop for another family friend… Then if I can remember to go over to the Galloping Goose I’d have another potential web job. Good things come to those who wait!
The Scripters is really starting to get a little bit popular. Oh and we’re officially a distributor for OpenOffice.org… I just need to sit down and make a page for it on the site… Not sure when I’ll get to that, though… Hopefully before too long… Maybe during my break from school next month…
Oh yeah… Online at DeVry University, for those who aren’t aware… I should put that on my new main page… I’ll get right on that, too…

Woohoo!
by Adam on Nov.20, 2009, under Other Stuff
The reason I’m excited: I got my old blog back! Or at least all the posts from it… I’m going to go through and fix up the posts that are a little messed up with random characters and such, but I haven’t gotten there fully, yet. I’ve done a few… If anyone notices something that may not look right, it probably isn’t…
Just let me know when you find something a little off..
Anyway, I’ve been able to rescue comments, posts, and pages. And if anyone ever needs help merging WordPress blogs, let me know, because I can do them…

New Theme! (And a Word for WordPress)
by Adam on Nov.19, 2009, under Other Stuff
How about that… Three years and I finally upgrade the theme to be a little more not-so-boring.
I was browsing the WordPress website and found a theme database. Went looking, and found this little gem! What do you think? I love it!
Anyway, I also wanted to bring up this bit of news:
WordPress Wins CMS Award November 17, 2009
I was very excited last week to learn that WordPress has been awarded the Overall Best Open Source CMS Award in the 2009 Open Source CMS Awards. This is a landmark for us, as it is the first time we’ve won this award, and it marks a shift in the public perception of WordPress, from [...] […]
Congratulations are in order, I think!

The Entrepreneur Test – Entrepreneur Quiz To Start a Small Business.
Think YOU have what it takes? Apparently I do! I was actually kind of surprised, to be honest. I wasn’t expecting that high of a score. But I did get 92-96. That’s pretty good, if you ask me. It’s in the “Very Good” range…
Very good. You definitely have what it takes to succeed in a small business of your own. Don’t hesitate, your way to business success is wide open.
Go ahead! Take the test and see if you have it!

2012: The Story Straight From NASA
by Adam on Nov.15, 2009, under Other Stuff
People have asked me lately about what I thought of the 2012/Mayan Calendar thing… At the time I hadn’t really heard anything about the theories or ideas to have an opinion. Now, however, there was a special on SyFy channel (channel 122 on DISH Network) that I’ve watched that talked about these theories and I can say with clarity and confidence that this is a load of CRAP. The only important thing about December 21, 2012 is the winter solstice — The sun will be directly over the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5 degrees South Latitude).
Also, NASA has this press release out written by Don Yeomans, a senior research scientist at NASA. Here’s some of what he said:
There apparently is a great deal of interest in celestial bodies, and their locations and trajectories at the end of the calendar year 2012. Now, I for one love a good book or movie as much as the next guy. But the stuff flying around through cyberspace, TV and the movies is not based on science. There is even a fake NASA news release out there… So here is the scientific reality on the celestial happenings in the year 2012. (Bold added)

New Tire Tariff in Place…
by Adam on Nov.07, 2009, under Other Stuff
New tire tariff… Get your tires now before they go up…
This seems like a big deal to me… But what I don’t get is why American tires would go up as well. I mean, I get that they want more money, yada, yada — but why increase tire prices just to have consumers buying the Chinese tires again? I like the idea of encouraging people to buy within the US more, and this probably is the best wy to do it, but American tires should not go up in price along with them. But that’s just my own opinion, I guess…
Anyway, comments are welcome!
