As many of you know, I’ve sorta been doing my own thing now… I wrote a PHP countdown not long ago. As of today, version 1.2 is out and available. Check here for more info.

It’s much more advanced this version. Included is a way to set the opening message, the expiration message, and even a message that says it’s currently happening! Set the sensitivity — whether it displays only hours, or hours and minutes, or the whole thing down to the seconds… Set the length of time the “happening” message displays. Among other things.

Not much else going on… Yeah, it’s pretty slow right now.. Although Christmas is just around the corner! Yippee!

Yeah, I’ve done up some projects pages… Stuff for me that I’ve done or will do or whatever.

There’s a page for projects for TheScripters as well as a page about personal projects. Stuff I’ve done. Stuff not really work-related. Even though I could use them for work. But they’re not specifically for work.

Anyway, check out the projects pages on the right for more information. I’d happy to help. And I’ll see about download links sometime tomorrow or something.

I’ve added the countdown above to countdown until midnight on Christmas Eve (Christmas morning). It is in Eastern Time, since that’s where the server’s at. So have at it, I suppose. I’ll be updating stuff off and on, probably. Right now the countdown will display days, hours, minutes, and seconds left until the specified date deducting each as they reach zero. If there’s an even minute left then seconds won’t show up, minutes will disappear if it’s less than a minute before the next hour changeover, etc.

…to  a friend. I know it’s almost a day late… But it’s still before midnight… Kind of… Almost. Anyway, happy birthday.

Really not much else to say, either… I guess I could go on about other stuff… It’s almost Christmas (yay!) and I’m a week (probably) from finding out where I get to go. Long story.

Anyway, TheScripters domain (just the domain itself, not the hosting) has been moved to a new (and cheaper) registrar… I haven’t done much else, really… Yeah not much to update on…

As of June 23, 2006 (old, yes) TheScripters has released its project “Fan Fiction Portal” for development by any 3rd party. It is beta software, so don’t get your hopes too high. We were working on it for a fan site a while back, but it got to the point where we simply couldn’t do it. Mostly because of the lack of free time to do it. If you want it, you’re welcome to it.

You can click here to download (in ZIP-format, if need other tell us). As I said, it is beta. If you want to develop it yourself, let us know so we can take it off the site so you’ll be the only ones.

It is a simplistic, basic site. Comes with RSS feed, full configuration, etc. If you would like a full feature list or would like some insight into the inner workings, give us a buzz. You can email us at any time at contact@thescripters.com. Full disclaimer is included in the ZIP file. If you need forum space, let us know on that as well.

It’s old, but it doesn’t hurt to bring it out in the open once in a while.

Well, it’s official. KP Fan World has moved to its new home. A new sever, its own host, its own space. We’re all happy about it. It’s the joining of every scattered piece of the fandom and of the site.

Screencaps are being moved to the same server. No more paying for separate space for them. And no requirement to place ads, either.

Hotlinked screencaps will still work. So nobody worry about that. That’s not an issue. We’ve worked it so that current hotlinks will continue to work.

We (or rather, I) have also noticed that session timeouts work better and last longer like they were supposed to on the old host (but didn’t). So this is a positive thing. Theoretically, a user should be able to be logged in for up to 12 hours. This will require testing still, but it looks promising.

Time Zone helper haas been modified and (hopefully) perfected to be much more accurate and much easier to figure out the results.
